There are many I Ching decks around, why did I started this project of creating a new one?
Well, two main reasons:
- I wanted a deck that I could call "mine"
- I wanted to implement a way to get moving lines properly
With "properly" I mean that the probability to get moving lines shouild be reasonably close to those of the traditional methods for casting I Ching hexagrams (three coins or yarrow stalks). Current decks offer no way of doing so and the common practice of selecting a second card to determine the related hexagram produces results that are too different from the traditional methods.
I believe I devised a fairly decent approximation of the three coins just using the 64 cards and hence I embarked in this mega task of creating a full deck for casting I Ching hexagrams. (I'll explain the method in one of the future posts).
I'll post cards in each post for your feedback and comments, I hope that you can help me creating something wortwhile of being used.
I'll use Midjourney and other AI based tool for generating the images, Gimp for retouching and Inkscape for assembly the graphcs together.
Hope you'll follow me in this journey and that we'll eventually bring it to completion.
